Bold Believer

In the middle of the night, on May 24 of 2015, Nora cried out to the Lord, Jesus Christ, through tears of complete awe just after He miraculously answered her private prayers of doubt, confusion and truth-seeking. Since that moment, the Lord has taken her under His wing and has shown her so many things she never even realized were possible. Miracle after miracle, epiphany after epiphany, He called her out of the grave and set her feet upon the Rock!

Now, Nora lives to serve the Lord and others, alongside her husband, with all that she is. Though still a daily work in progress, her earnest desire is to step out of the way and allow God to be glorified through her in each of the gifts and talents He has blessed her with. Looking back over the course of the last fifteen years, she is thankful to have had the privilege of teaching children of every grade level, K-12, while also getting to work in the fields of standards alignment and curriculum development along the way. 

Since giving her all to Christ, He has taken Nora on the most incredible journey of teaching and ministering all across the world. She and her husband have gotten to trek through seven different countries and tens of states together, all while learning evermore to trust and obey their Heavenly Father through every peak, pit and plateau of life.

All along, even when she absolutely could not see it, the Lord was working all things together for her good. Now she rises every morning, awestruck to find that He has made possible her heart’s deepest desires.

Not only is Nora married to her best friend, JB McElwain, but her dream of becoming a parent has come true with the birth of her beautiful children, Josiah Brighton, Rhema Rose and Menorah Lee. Nora's prayers to be able to serve the Lord full-time alongside her husband, while home-schooling her children, authoring and illustrating children’s books, and working from home, have all been answered by the King of Glory Himself!
