God's Love Letter to Us
We are born into a world of sin, like fish born into a bowl of water. We swim around in circles through life, innately hoping to find glistening streams bursting with life somewhere but utterly feeling lost. We look for ways to fill the empty void inside yet find nothing lastingly sufficient. We form habits and addictions as desperate acts of self-soothing, yet the vacuum in our hearts never stops wanting more. The superficial vanity and deceit of the world constantly vie for our attention while our inner voices pollute our minds. Day by day, we spiral up and down on a roller coaster of emotional highs and lows, often glad that other people cannot read our minds. We often say and do things we ourselves regret right after.
So then, who are we and what part of us is it that can actually judge our own thoughts or behaviors? What is driving us and the people around us to behave the way we do? Why are we here and what is the meaning of life? I personally pondered these questions and so many others throughout my entire life. From childhood to adulthood, I often asked others what they thought about all these things. Still searching for answers in college, I took several philosophy and logic courses, as well as world religions, politics, geography, demography, anthropology, geology, biology, psychology and so many more--all the way up to earning my Master's degree--and yet nothing and no one could answer these basic questions, which created pangs of loneliness and heartache in the depths of my soul.
That is until 2015, when I found the world's best kept secret: The Holy Bible. Since the beginning of time, there has been a massive attempt to discredit and destroy this book--why? The book itself explains everything! It has every answer to every question I ever wondered and more! It is unlike what the world has made it out to be. It is not a book about religion but rather, an invitation into a relationship with our maker, God Almighty. It is the eternal love letter, written to us, by Him, to intimately reveal His personality, purpose and plan for our lives. Once you read it, you will never ever be the same.
But wait... you've made it this far through life and are probably wondering why you should even bother opening some book the world continuously tells you is obsolete: Well, picture your mind as the most revolutionary new computer out there--but upon unboxing it, you got hacked with a deadly Trojan horse virus from the world! Now your operating system is plagued by a Pandora's box of malware. Every file is corrupt! Tainted! Malfunctioning! The designer still loves His wonderful creation and is absolutely not willing just to junk it, so he creates a perfect set of system restore disks. Insert the all-encompassing restore disks into the hard drive and allow them to run all the way through. Once complete, the system will be restored and able to operate as the designer intends it. The Bible is our perfect set of system restore disks! But we must open it up and run through each part in order for our systems to operate again as our designer intends it. With a bit of faith, time and trust , not only will all that the virus robbed us of be restored, but we will also have the added joy of eternally regaining all that we once thought was hopelessly lost forever!!!
Please pray with me:
Dear God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, Sun, Moon and Stars, and Every Living Soul,
I pray that you would open my eyes and restore my sight, Father. Please give me ears that I may hear your voice and hearken unto it, Lord. As I look into your Word with all my mind, heart, soul and strength, I pray for Spiritual understanding. Teach me to become aware, obedient and trusting of you in every moment, location and circumstance. Thank you so much for the gift of life and salvation through Jesus Christ, your one and only Son (God in the flesh). I am truly grateful that you preserved your Word for all humanity as proof of who you are and how much you love us. It is incredible that you actually care to hear and answer my private prayers. What a miracle it is when you quicken me with your Holy Spirit! Thank you for coming to dwell among us that we may have life and have it more abundantly. Please shine your light upon my heart and cast out every dark area, large and small. In Jesus'' Name, Amen
